Abhyudaya Joshi was a surgical resident in New York City when he had the insight to devote his career to improving healthcare delivery. This insight was inspired by the shock he experienced on seeing the inefficiencies of healthcare delivery in the best city in the world. Having been born in Nepal, he had imagined US healthcare institutions would be quite futuristic.

After this realization, Dr. Joshi decided to train as an internist instead and go to business school to learn entrepreneurship. While getting his MBA at Duke, he also established Febris Health. He has continued to work as a hospitalist, including more recently as the Director of Hospital Medicine at his hospital in rural North Carolina. This has allowed him to experience first hand the problems he is trying to solve. A life growing up in Asia, Middle East and America - both urban & rural, North & South, has given him a breadth of exposure that gives him the best chance of success. 

When he first came to America, he had a vision of what US healthcare would be. He is now working to make that vision a reality. It imagines the patient at the center of a decentralized system interacting with physicians and healthcare institutions. It includes a mobile-first automated AI-powered platform with IoT devices that would help healthcare personnel in their daily work. It eliminates inefficiencies and provides equitable healthcare for all.

It is our generation's imperative to lay a modern foundation for healthcare so that we can manage all the mind-boggling innovations coming our way. Our journey has begun.
